As of 1 July 2022, Western Australia banned the use of all plastic bags, other than fresh produce barrier bags.
We're full supporters of this legislation and so from 23 May 2022, we removed all soft-plastic bags from WA stores and replaced them with 100% recyclable paper bags.
You can still bring any of your own bags when shopping in-store – including your own reusable bags. We do ask that you check that the packaging is clean and safe to use.
How much do they cost?
Paper bags now cost 25c each in-store and $1.50 per order, for Click&Collect and home delivery. This charge reflects our sourcing and distribution costs and is helping to reduce waste across our stores.
Produce bags
Clear produce bags are considered to be barrier bags and at this stage aren't included in WA's legislation banning plastic. They'll still be available in-store and when you shop online.
